What About Men?

This panel, a part of CWF’s 2017 Symposium titled “Encountering the Poor: A Feminine Lens on the Problem of Poverty”, featured Deborah Savage, PhD and Rachel Lu, PhD. Savage’s talk, Men at Work: Poverty, Families, and the Assault on Masculinity, discusses the contours and significance of the contemporary “war” on men and seeks to illuminate the link between it and the hopes we all share for the well-being of women and families in the 21st century. Lu’s Believing in Redemption: What Justice Reform Tells Us About Men and Poverty explains recent contemporary efforts to reform our criminal justice system, explaining what these can tell us about helping detached men.
