Sr. Sara Butler, M.S.B.T.

Professor, University of St. Mary of the Lake Mundelein

Sister Sara Butler, M.S.B.T., S.T.L., Ph.D., is professor emerita of dogmatic theology at the University of St. Mary of the Lake Mundelein, IL, and past-president of the Academy of Catholic Theology. She served two terms on the International Theological Commission and is a consultant to the U.S. Bishops’ Doctrine Committee. A seminary teacher for over 25 years, Sr. Sara has published more than 50 scholarly articles and The Catholic Priesthood and Women: A Guide to the Teaching of the Church (Chicago: Hillenbrand, 2007).  She currently resides at the motherhouse of her community, the Missionary Servants of the Most Blessed Trinity, and is the Director of New Evangelization for the Mother Boniface Spirituality Center, 3501 Solly Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136.
